How does shipping work and what does it cost?
We offer multiple local and national shipping options to fit your needs! All orders require 1-2 working days to process, package and inspect items prior to shipping. Orders placed over weekends and public holidays will only be processed the following working day. Shipping times are estimates only and are subject to change. It’s always best to order with plenty of time to spare.
*Overnight shipping fees are highly affected by the weight and volume of your parcel. We therefor offer two shipping rates: (1) 3kg package for sleeker dresses and (2) 5kg package for fuller dresses. During checkout, your shipping cost will be calculated based on your chosen items and destination. For outlying/regional areas add 1-2 working days to the above standard delivery times.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide by DHL Express within 1-3 working days. Orders are processed and shipped within 1-2 working days of receiving your order on weekdays only. Due to customs we can’t guarantee exact delivery dates. Please ensure you place your order with plenty of lead time. International shipping fees are calculated at checkout depending on your items chosen and destination.
All international shipments are subject to duties and taxes, none of which are included within our shipping fees. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to ordering. We unfortunately do not keep this information on hand and cannot give any estimates for these charges.
Do you offer returns on your products?
No, all sales are final, no exchanges, refunds or returns of any kind. Formal dresses are a special occasion item meaning some dresses may only be worn once to then be returned. We strongly feel that our product is too delicate and special to be shipping from one customer to another. We prefer to offer our clients brand new merchandise that has not be worn and free of any type of odours to maintain our quality standards. We therefore urge customers to measure properly and understand that upfront alterations are needed in most situations.
If you want the option to return your formal wear and do not mind if someone else has worn it, you will want to shop with someone that has a policy that meets your needs.
What are my payment options?
For online purchases, we accept Visa, Mastercard and Instant EFT (Standard Bank, Nedbank, Absa, FNB). To make things easier, we also accept PayPal and can be arranged directly with us. Instant EFT is only available for South African clients.
In-store purchases can be made in cash or by credit card (Visa or Mastercard). To make shopping that much more convenient, we offer our in-store clients lay-by plans on all dress purchases. It’s simple – a 30% deposit secures and registers your dress to your school, and the balance can be paid off as you go.
How do I track my order?
Once your dress has been carefully packaged, inspected and shipped, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you within 24 hours after dispatch including a tracking number and a link to track your parcel online. To track the status of your order on our website, simply go to order status and enter your Order ID provided to you on your receipt and confirmation e-mail.
How do I measure my size?
Formal dresses fit differently than clothing you normally buy – so make sure you take your measurements accurately and order your dress accordingly. If you’re unsure or in-between sizes, always order up based on your most dominant measurement and have the dress professionally altered to fit perfectly.
For more information, please refer to the “Size Chart” link provided on each dress product page to see how each style fits and how to measure your size. Please keep in mind that alterations are to be expected, especially with sleek and body hugging dresses, as most of the time there is no perfect fit. Scarlett Fashion is not responsible for these alterations.
Is it safe to shop online?
You can shop at Scarlett Fashion with confidence. All information you submit to us on your order is secured through SSL. We encrypt sensitive information like your personal details and contact information. We partner with PayFast.co.za, a leading payment gateway since 2007, to accept credit card numbers safely and securely for our customers when they are transmitted for processing. We also hate spam! We will never share or sell any of your information with any 3rd party unless it is necessary to fulfil your order (such as DHL shipping).
Do you have a physical store location?
Yes! Our studio is located in Somerset West just off the R44. For more info on our services, trading hours and location, go to our studio.
Is your studio by appointment only?
Yes, all visits to the studio are strictly by appointment only. We prefer to work one-on-one with our clients in order to give you a unique and personalized shopping experience. By pairing you with one of our consultants, we offer you our undivided attention, expert advice and the exciting opportunity to browse our collection within your own time. We’re there to help you every step of the way whilst you have all the fun!
Who should I bring to my appointment?
Friends and family are encouraged to attend and participate in the appointment! We suggest bringing only 1-2 guests who know you best and whose opinions you value most. Please keep in mind that all appointments require a parent or legal guardian to accompany you whilst dress shopping and fitting due to the nature of our products.

Are your dresses new and exclusive?
Absolutely! All dresses are proudly independently manufactured by Scarlett Fashion to ensure everything we sell meets our strict design and quality standards. All items are exclusive, with all original Scarlett Fashion tags and packaging included. We strictly only sell brand new dresses and do not buy from middle-men, rent or buy back dresses. Our collection is updated year round to ensure we’re always on trend and exclusively available in-store and online.
Do you offer everything on your website in-store and vice versa?
No, not all styles and sizes on our website are available to purchase in-store. If you have a question about a particular dress, contact us before booking an appointment to check for availability. Our studio carries over 1000 exclusive dresses only available to view and purchase in-store by appointment.
Do you stock bridesmaids and MOB dresses in-store?
We do not carry a range of bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride and/or flower girl dresses in-store and can be custom made for you. Our designers create dress styles with our unique signature style and the Scarlett Fashion customer in mind. From our experience, our collection is more suited towards matric farewell dances, 21st birthdays and pageants. If you don’t mind a little glitz and glamour, you’re always welcome to purchase or make a dress with us for any occasion you see fit.
What is your size range and average dress price?
All dress styles/sizes move fast and are available whilst stocks last. If a style or size is sold out it’s discontinued and cannot be special ordered in a different size or colour. We carry from size US4 to US14 in stock with selective styles only available in smaller sizes. We currently do not carry plus size dresses. Our price range is from R2995 to R8995. Alterations are to be expected and Scarlett Fashion will not be responsible for these.
Can you custom make my dress?
No we do not make customs dresses although we are sure you will be able to find your dress from out vast range in studio.
What is a dress registry and how does it work?
We promise to only sell ONE dress style per school to ensure each and every one of our clients will be wearing a unique dress at their special event. Once you’ve secured your dress, the style is registered to your school. Only available for in-store dress purchases.
